This article explains how to update the FreeAgent mobile app either automatically or manually on iOS and Android devices.In order to access the FreeAgent mobile app’s most up-to-date features and functionality, you need to ensure that you’re running the most recent version of the app. If something doesn’t look quite right in the FreeAgent mobile app or it isn’t running as you’d expect, updating the app is likely to resolve the issue.Updating the FreeAgent mobile app automaticallyIf you want to ensure that you always run the latest version of the FreeAgent mobile app, you should enable automatic updates on your device.iOS devicesPlease note that we’ll be removing support for iOS 15 and below on 3rd June 2024. In order to download the FreeAgent mobile app after this date, you’ll need to use a device that supports iOS 16 or newer.If you haven’t done so already, download the FreeAgent mobile app. Next, navigate to the ‘Settings’ on your device and select ‘iTunes & App Store’.Select the toggle to the right-hand side of ‘App Updates’ to enable automatic updates. Please note that this will apply to all apps on your iOS device.Android devicesPlease note that we’ll be removing support for Android 8 and below on 6th May 2024. In order to download the FreeAgent mobile app after this date, you’ll need to use a device that supports Android 9 (Pie) or newer.If you haven’t done so already, download the FreeAgent mobile app and navigate to the Google Play Store app on your device. Tap the three-lined 'hamburger' icon in the top-left corner and select ‘Settings’.Next, select ‘Auto-update apps’.A pop-up window will appear with some additional options. Select the appropriate one and tap ‘Done’.Updating the FreeAgent mobile app manuallyiOS devicesNavigate to the App Store on your iOS device and select ‘Today’ at the bottom-left of the screen.Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner to access the ‘Account’ area.Scroll down to ‘Available Updates’ and select ‘Update’ next to the FreeAgent mobile app icon.Alternatively, select ‘Update All’ at the top of the list to update all of the outdated apps on your device to their latest version.Android devicesNavigate to the Google Play Store app on your device, tap the three-lined 'hamburger' icon in the top-left corner and select ‘Manage apps and device’.Scroll down to ‘Updates pending’ and select ‘Update’ next to the FreeAgent mobile app icon.Alternatively, you can select ‘Update all’ at the top

This article explains the three methods you can use to log in to your FreeAgent account.If you're unable to log in to your FreeAgent account, please see our troubleshooting steps for problems logging into FreeAgent.There are multiple ways to log in to your FreeAgent account. You can either log in via:The FreeAgent login pageYour FreeAgent URLYour Google accountThe FreeAgent login pageVisit the FreeAgent login page and enter the email address and password associated with your FreeAgent account in the relevant fields.If you use 2-Step Verification, you'll need to enter a code from your authenticator app each time you wish to access the account, even if that device is known.Logging in when you have multiple FreeAgent accountsIf you have multiple FreeAgent accounts registered with the same email address and password, you will follow the same steps as above and will then be prompted to select the account you wish to access.If you have multiple FreeAgent accounts which use a different email address and/or password, using your specific FreeAgent URL for the relevant account will help you log in successfully. You can bookmark the specific login page for each account so that you can log in to the appropriate accounts easily.Your FreeAgent URL You can also log in to your FreeAgent account via a unique URL that includes your FreeAgent ‘subdomain’, which is normally the name of your business. The URL will follow the structure [your subdomain].freeagent.com. Find out how to find your FreeAgent subdomain.Your FreeAgent URL will take you to the login page, where you’ll be asked to enter the email address and password associated with your FreeAgent account in the relevant fields.Your Google accountIf you signed up for FreeAgent using Gmail or Google Mail, you’ll have the option to log in to a single account using your Google account details. Select ‘Sign in with Google’.Follow the remaining steps as prompted to log in.Temporarily disabled loginTo help protect your FreeAgent account, FreeAgent will temporarily disable your ability to log in if your password is entered incorrectly 15 times in a row. If your login attempts are temporarily disabled, you will be unable to log in for a maximum of 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you will be able to attempt to log in again.
